Untreated colored gemstones are among the most finite resources on Earth. Their geological rarity has made them coveted across empires and centuries.
For over 4,000 years, gemstones have preserved wealth through wars, currency collapses, and regime shifts—offering continuity when other assets disappeared.
Historically uncorrelated to stocks, bonds, or gold, premium gemstones offer long-term appreciation and protection in volatile cycles.
Demand for untreated colored gemstones is rising while new sources are vanishing. With inflation, deglobalization, and many questions around traditional store-of-value assets, gemstones offer a resilient counterbalance.
Gemfields predicts ruby mines may be exhausted by 2029—and emeralds by 2045. The window for acquiring true geological rarity is closing.
Only 125 kg of premium-grade emeralds and just 25 kg of rubies are produced globally each year—compared to thousands of tonnes of gold, silver, and platinum.

The Gemstone Company aims to curate a portfolio of rare, premium, natural colored gemstones—individually certified, securely held, and acquired through a long-term, high-discipline acquisition strategy. Beyond direct ownership, the Gemstone Company aims to also engage in high-value royalty agreements related to gemstone extraction, as well as funding value-added processing partnerships.
With over ten years in the gemstone industry, Patrick has built deep relationships across international markets. After founding and successfully exiting a global gemstone venture, he now focuses on bringing institutional insight to a traditionally opaque sector—treating each acquisition not just as a trade, but as a cultural and geological artifact.
Alexander brings decades of experience from leading global investment banks and entrepreneurial ventures. His approach fuses structured financial thinking with a deep, long-term and tangible value the gemstone opportunity offers.
The Gemstone Company is advised by Centuries Capital, a Vienna-based specialist boutique with deep execution capabilities in the global gemstone trade.
